Dave Porter had cast and fired four masks… A very important element of the layout was a small flat backed ‘two thirds vase” intended to be part of the composition.
A unique aspect of the vase is that is made to hold a live rose. This is a reference to the storyline of The Phantom. Not only does the rose prompt a reprise to the story, but when displayed with a real rose the intent of including a “symbol” of life becomes an inclusion of real life.
Also, there is that eye again. The old mysterious teaspoon eye.
